Lasertec was founded in 1995 and two years later became the first private company in Europe to use an ultra-short pulse UV laser. In 2001, following a strategic partnership with a major laser source manufacturer, ultra-fast laser cutting machines were tested in the USA. In 2003, Lasertec entered the coin industry with the first production of laser engraved dies for coining tools. Ultra-short pulse lasers, also known as femtosecond lasers, were not used in industrial production until 2009. The rapid development of the watch industry at that time was the reason for the foundation of Swiss Micro Laser, a Swiss laser subcontracting subsidiary, in 2011. Subsequently, Lasertec modernized in 2012, with a 425 m2 production center in the form of a clean room. Since 2015, certified according to ISO 9001, Lasertec entered the German market with the foundation of Micro Lasertec Deutchland GmbH. Since its foundation, Lasertec has continuously developed and expanded its business activities in various Swiss areas of expertise, especially in the watch and medical markets, and is now one of the leading companies in the world of micro laser technology.

• Laser Ablation: in five steps, this technique is used to sublimate very thin layers down to 0.2 µm using ultra-short pulse lasers. It is used for high-precision engraving and texturing, regardless of the size of the surface of the material treated.
• Laser welding: this service allows laser micro-welding with precision down to the micron. From stainless steel to precious metals, most metallic materials can benefit from laser micro welding. 
• Laser Texturing: This technique modifies the surface of any part. Thanks to this laser process, it is possible to perform selective aesthetic sandblasting in watchmaking, reduce friction, decorate an injection mold, add optical effects or optimize the bonding of certain parts.
• Laser marking: this process allows the identification of parts by marking a consecutive serial number also called UDI marking. Our laser marking techniques are particularly suitable for medical implants.
• Laser drilling: this process is very efficient for mass production of micro holes requiring high precision in repetition. The smallest hole made by Lasertec reaches a diameter of 2 µm on a thickness of 50 µm.
• Laser cutting: This technique allows parts from 10 µm to 1 mm to be cut with extreme precision. The laser machines developed by Lasertec for this process are a real revolution in various fields, especially medical.
