Laser engraving of an intra-sapphire glass

Lasertec pushes a new door in the field of sapphire machining. After successfully cutting a perfectly functional watch gear from sapphire, engraving inside a sapphire crystal is now possible. Indeed, it took several days of development to allow this material to be engraved in its heart, without visible external marks. Moreover, this marking can be completely invisible for the identification of component since the minimum definition reached is 4µm per engraved pixel.
